Lin-Chi Chen, M.D., Ph.D.Dr. Chen specializes in lung cancer. She joined NVCI from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City where she was a medical oncology fellow. While at Memorial Sloan Kettering, Dr. Chen's research was focused on the characterization of antigens as potential therapeutic targets, with a concentration in thoracic oncology. Dr. Chen has participated in the design and conduct of clinical trials in lung cancer, primarily focused on translational research in small cell lung cancer.

Dr. Chen trained in internal medicine at New York Weill Cornell Medical Center. She received her M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York along with a Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology. Dr. Chen also was a fellow in internal medicine at New York Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Dr. Chen is a board certified medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of patients with cancer in the upper aerodigestive tract, particularly lung, and head and neck cancers. She also sees patients with esophageal and colon cancers. Treatment for these malignancies requires coordination among multiple disciplines, including pulmonary medicine, thoracic surgery, and radiation oncology. Her primary role is to guide patients through their treatment course so they may obtain the best possible outcomes, whether they have early stage or advanced disease.

Dr. Chen is also interested in developing new treatments for patients and is actively involved in clinical trials that examine new drugs for lung cancer as well those that are in the early phases of drug development.
