David A. Pomerantz, M.D.
Director of Clinical Radiation Oncology
David A. Pomerantz was appointed as the Clinical Director of Radiation Oncology at the Nevada Cancer Institute, where he will continue his oncology practice. He completed his undergraduate study at the University of California, Berkley and attended medical school at the University of Vermont. His internship and residency were completed at the Maine Medical Center and Loma Linda Medical Center, respectively. Dr. Pomerantz completed graduate studies in Biological Chemistry, focusing on molecular human genetics at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Dr. Pomerantz brings expertise in genitourinary and gynecologic malignancies to NVCI. He is American Board of Radiology board certified and specializes in the treatment of prostate cancer, gynecologic cancers and lung cancers.
He has a particular interest in High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy and permanent seed implants. Dr. Pomerantz has given several lectures on the use of radiation in the treatment of prostate cancer and remains an active member of multiple community organizations, national and international societies. Among these are the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO), American Brachytherapy Society (ABS), and the American Medical Association (AMA). He has been a member of the Southern Nevada Cancer Research Foundation (SNCRF) through which he participates in National Cancer Institute (NCI) and Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP) sponsored research protocols.
